Hi Everyone!

Today I have been doing more fiddling around, but I have managed to sort out the brown and cream leather look card I was working on yesterday.  I realised that my mistake was in believing that I can make everything work with a square card if I want it to, but it doesn't happen like that no matter how much I beg, bribe or threaten it!  So I changed the card shape to an A5 landscape and it works much better, though I'm still not entirely happy with it.  My problem is that I want to do so many fiddly little things to the cards to finish them off to my satisfaction, but if I did that it would mean I'd have to charge the earth for them if I want to make any money, lol.  Oh well...it'll do, I guess.

I've used a plain white base card with a cream layer of leather look card.  I have used the Tim Holtz ruler to prick around the sides (I used to do a lot of pricking in all different patterns but haven't done that for years), then I have added a layer of brown leather look card.  I have used Spellbinders dies to cut out the labels shapes and the flourishes, then I used their rose dies for the flower, though I didn't turn it into a proper rose.  The beautiful image is from Joanna Sheen's Nostalgia CDs.  I've stamped the sentiment onto the cream card, then stuck it all together using pinflair and foam pads for some depth.

Take care.

  2. Lol, thanks Sheenagh. I should have redone the flower and made it a little smaller but I didn't and it's too late now. I'll do it again another day and make sure I fix that.

  4. It's the first time I've used those rose dies...and I have the matching stamp to go with them. I do love cream and brown together.
