Christmas is Coming!

Ok...it maybe a little time until Christmas 2012 but it never hurts to be ready!  That's why this year one of my New Year resolutions was to try and make at least one Christmas card a week throughout the year.  I was going to give myself January off but I have got my mitts on the most stunning digi image by the US artist Heather Valentin (Scrapbook Stamp Society/Addicted to Stamps) and I just had to use it!

As you can see, this is Christmas with attitude!

I started off by printing out the digi image of 'Krystal,' (which is a limited edition digi available from http://scrapbookstampsociety.com), and coloured it in using my promarkers.   I finished that with some glitter on the snowy parts.

I took a 6x6 (approx) card blank and matted a layer of Papermania Textured card in a lilac shade. I then embossed three bits of card in ever shrinking sizes...two with a dots folder and one with a snowflake folder, which I  matted onto the textured lilac card and glued them in position.

I had already cut the digi image with a Spellbinders circle die before colouring, so I cut another larger circle in the textured lilac card and then cut a lacy circle, courtesy of Spellbinders.  I layered these together with pinflair.  I did the same with the sentiment which I had just handstamped onto white Supersmooth.

I placed the topper in the centre, put the sentiment in one corner and added two glittered snowflakes which I had cut in my Silhouette.  I then added two gorgeous white feathers and two white hat pins from my stash.

So lots of different textures throughout with this one.  Think I'll be using this image a lot for next Christmas!

And if that's not enough for you, I also did another Valentine's Card using my Silhouette.

These birds are so twitterpated it's unreal!  Awwwww, bless!  Lol.

I've cut the base card using Silk Art card in white and lilac (it's a white and lilac day!).  The whole thing was designed in my Silhouette software and the image was coloured using promarkers.  This is so pretty on its own that all it needed for embellishment was a little, white, double bow and a few faux pearls.  Very cute.

Well, I hope that you like the cards.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.
xx
