Hi everyone!
Well...not long now until the big day and my tree's up, the pressies are bought and all I need to do is make a few more cards, wrap the pressies, make the mince pies and buy a few little bits for Christmas Day tea and that's it. Yay! I'll soon be able to sit back and just enjoy the build up. Never been this organised before and think I'll make a habit out of it as it's so much less stressful.
Anyhoo...it's the start of the Christmas Challenge over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog and this time Team A and B have come together for a month long challenge which has a prize of a £30 voucher to spend at www.joannasheen.com! Wow! How fabulous is that? The theme is Make it Sparkle. I'm starting off the challenge and hosting for the first two weeks and then Paula will be coming in with a mid challenge post on the 15th Dec with more DT inspiration and some important news for you, so make sure you check back then.
Right...on with my card and I'm quite proud of this one too, as I think I'm finally getting to grips with this cardmaking malarky!
For this card I have used a digi from Joanna Sheen's Housemouse Triple CD Collection...one of my favourite images. I have coloured the image using the following Promarkers:
Pastel Beige, Khaki, Denim Blue, Pastel Blue, Caramel, Sandstone and Blush.
I have hilighted the sprig or wotsit the dove is carrying with some glitter and used white(ish) glitter card for the snowflakes (cut with a Spellbinder die) to 'make it sparkle.'
All the fabulous papers are from the 'Christmas Wishes' set by Bearly Mine Designs and I have also adapted one of Donna's (from Bearly Mines) sketches to create this layout.
Because the papers and layout work so well it didn't need much embellishment so I just added a few blue faux gems to finish off. The inside is decorated to match. The matting layer is textured, metallic card from my stash.
Yep...pretty happy with this one.
I will be entering this card into the following challenges:
