Lest We Forget. - Scribble and Scrap DT Card.

Morning everyone!

Today is a very special day being Remembrance Sunday...the time when we remember all the men, women, children and animals who gave their lives during the wars.  In my local cemetery, right by one of the paths is a small headstone to a little boy called John who was one of the local people killed during the bombings.  He was only 4 years old.  Some wonderful person goes round the cemetery each year and puts a cross and poppy on all the graves of people who gave their lives, including John's.  It always brings a tear when you pass John's grave with his poppy.  So my card today is to remember all those, including John, who gave their lives for their country...whichever country they died for.

It is also the start of Challenge #5 over at the Scribble and Scrap Blog and, as always, the theme is Anything Goes.  So head over there, check out the rules and join in with the fun.

The winner (drawn by Random) will win a £15 voucher to spend at Scribble and Scrap Shop and if the winner is using a product from the shop their prize will be a £20 voucher.

We also have Top Three and GDT and if you are chosen for one of those positions (and Winner) you will be showcased on the blog.  You will also receive blinkies and the GDT gets to pick a digi to use in creating their project for the next challenge.  So head off to your craftroom and get crafting!

Don't forget that we also have Fortnightly Candy which is a £10 voucher to spend in the shop.

Anyhoo...here's my card.

My intention with this card was to make it suitable for male or females and I think I've just about managed that.

The base of the easel (cut using Spellbinders Labels 1 dies)  is black Papermania textured cardstock

The digi image is a vintage one which I sell in my shop here and I coloured it usting the following promarkers:

Lipstick Red, Red, Berry Red, Pine, Forest Green, Bright Green, Lime Green, Black, Burnt Umber and Walnut.

The paper is one which I created myself especially for this card...though it may be in the shop soon.

I also created the sentiment on my lappy, and the black, faux gems are from my stash.

And that's it...I wanted it to suit everyone involved in Remembrance Day and it is for everybody out there from me and Jamie.
xx

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

  8. This is so beautiful, Lexie! Love the easel and those papers. I hope that paper gets into the shop. :-D How sad about little John but how sweet that someone remembers him and counts him among those lost in the war each year.
