Hope you're all safe after the appalling floods we've been having over much of the country. I'm very lucky here as we're up on a hill so all we've had is puddles, but I really do feel for those affected.
Today's card is a bit different to what you would usually expect from me but I love it.
There you go...Eleanor & Pickles with Tashes in purples and greens.
Eleanor & Pickles are the baby of Heather Valentin who is a brilliant American artist who specialises in gothic and fantasy. Aren't they adorable? You'll be seeing a lot more of these characters around, that's for sure! They're lovely to colour as well, and you can be as wild and whacky as you like with these, or you can go muted. It's entirely up to you.
I have coloured the digi in using promarkers and was going to use some wild colours for the hair (something I've not done before apart from my own head...not always intentionally, lol), but wanted to try a different technique to try and make the hair look more realistic so played safe and used colours I know. I'm quite pleased with the results of the hair but need more practice. I'm determined to end up being a fab colourist!
I made the papers myself in CA2, and they're lovely and dotty and I've colour picked to make sure I get exact reversals when I've changed from pale purple with pale green to pale green with pale purple. I wanted the papers to be paler so that the image stands out more. Think it works ok.
I've matted and layered onto some lovely bright green textured cardstock from Papermania. The sentiment stamp is by Personal Impressions, the flowers are from a pack by Fizzy Moon, and the faux crystal flowers and gems are from my stash.
The inside has been decorated to match.
Heather Valentin's Eleanor & Pickles range are available to buy from the following link. Please note that this is the only official and authorised place to purchase these digis and anyone else selling them is doing so illegally!
Anyway...that's all folks!
Happy crafting.
xx
