Beatrix Potter Baby Boy Easel Card.

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok?

Today's card is made using one of my favourite Beatrix Potter images from the Two Bad Mice CD by Crafter's Companion. I absolutely love this image and have used it several times for baby cards.

I made the base card for this using my Silhouette software with the shape of one of the MCS Nesties.

I created the matting layers for the topper, sentiment and paper using CA2 and  MCS Nesties shapes, and colour picked from the image, then shadowed them so it looks like there really are layers.  The paper was colourised using the colouriser on the Crafter's Companion CD.  The image was cut to match the shape of the frame backing, as was the sentiment, which was made using some of the backing paper with the text added to it.

Please note:  You cannot digitally manipulate the artwork from any of the Crafter's Companion discs so please be careful.  The manipulation carried out digitally on this card was on layers I created (digitally) using MCS Nesties as a base.  When using CA2 it is easy to get carried away but we have to remember that we need to protect the copyright of the companies and artists who provide the artwork we use so that they are able to carry on coming up with the goods for us to use.

To finish off I used a gorgeous blue and white checked bow from Papermania and a couple of blue faux gem stars from my stash.

A lovely, simple little card, just right for a little boy and cheap to shove in the post, though the faux layers look like the real thing, even in the flesh!  Really enjoyed playing with this one.

Take care everyone.
Happy crafting!
xx

  9. Layering works really well on this Lexie and it's good to know that you're honest about some of it being done digitally (I know there are some who aren't!)to add depth without bulk. Great reminder about copyright too... like you say we need the artists to keep us supplied with more gorgeous images so great cards like this can be made from them! Well done on producing another gorgeous card!
