Spectrum Noir Storage

Hi Folks!

Hope you're ok and getting some nice weather for a change?

I've been busy, busy, busy here but don't have a card to show you today.  Instead I have something else...storage for your pens.  I had a trawl through Google the other day looking for ideas and came across this idea put forward by several people.  Sorry...I didn't even think to bookmark the pages so I can't give credit to the clever people who came up with this idea, but I think it's brilliant and I'm really pleased with it.

This is holding the entire range of Speccies and there is still plenty of space to start collecting Copics.

I bought the CD rack from Ebay as well as a lot of plastic jewel cases (cd cases) for the shelves.  It came to around £34 in total, which isn't bad as it's going to make life a lot easier as the pens are in order and will remain so.  They're easy to find and grab and put back again.  The only adjustment I had to do was pull the plastic bits off the actual racking as they were springs and made half the pens stick out too far.

Yes, I should have tidied up the pens (some are awry) but I'd just completed setting it up and as I did it flat some moved when I stood it upright, but being me I was in a huge rush to get the photos done so I could show you.

I'm sure that many of you will have seen (and use) this idea, but there are also plenty who won't have...like myself until about a week ago, lol.

Anyway,  you all take care and happy crafting!
xx

  1. I like it Lexie, I have a similar system but its 3 sets of 5 small draws and all I did was colour small labels with each colour and put these on the draw fronts so I can see at a glance where each colour is. It doesn't look as posh as yours though.

  2. This is fabulous Lexie! Dont't think the space will cover the Copic's you are going to start to buy, as if you are anything like me you will want the whole lot!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing xxxx

    Hugs to you both

  7. Hi Lexie, just wondered what the dimensions of the unit are and if the pens stick out the front?

The pens fit perfectly and the end of the cap overhangs the front of the cd case shelves...just enough to make them very easy to grab but still look nice and neat.

This on is spring loaded so you have to just break those bits of plastic off which was very easy as they just snap.

  11. Lexie I did the same as you did but I think I got away a lot cheaper, I went to the local thrift store and for 50 cents I got the cd stand and hubby just cut me the boards same as your cd cases. And yes lots of room left but I'll fill it with things I'm sure. TFS
