Sleep Well Thomas Kinkade.

Hi Everyone,

hope you're having a good Easter Sunday?

Well, as you'll have heard by now, Thomas Kinkade very sadly died on Friday.  The world has lost a giant of a man - an incredible talent - a man who allowed his fantastic work to be used by crafters both in papercrafts and in sewing crafts.  And what fantastic work he has left us all with.

My heart goes out to his wife and daughters.
xx

Today I have chosen to use one of Thomas Kinkade's painting as my little tribute to him.  The image and paper are from the Joanna Sheen CD which is incredible and features so much of his beautiful work.  I decided not to do a sympathy card but a card in celebration of what he allowed so many of us to do through looking at his paintings - dream.

Please excuse the slightly sliding off the sentiment bow, lol.  I took the pic as soon as I'd finished it so the glue was still wet.

I have used a combination of my Cameo and my Spellbinders for this card.  The base and layers were cut by Spellbinders, but the topper and layers were cut on the Cameo.

It's just a basic rocker card created using 300gsm white card stock and the green and purple layers are cut from Papermania's Textured Cardstock.

The bow and faux gems are from my stash.  A simple card which lets the artwork do the talking, as it should be with Thomas Kinkade paintings.

Sleep well Thomas Kinkade.
xx
