Hi.  Hope you're all having a good weekend?

Today's card is a pretty little square tent card.  The backing papers are from My Craft Studio's Illustrious Illusions CD...sort of!

I started off with a 6 x 6 (approx) card blank and decided that I was going to do a tent card for a change.  That's with the spine at the top so it stands like a tent.

I had already decided that I wanted some pretty pansy paper so I found a paper I liked on the Illustrious Illusions CD but the pansies were far too big.  I shrank it right down in the programme and then copied and pasted so I had four of them.  I lined them up side by side and did a bit of overlapping to ensure I matched them up perfectly.  Once I had done that I used the 'tile' tool and tiled until it was A4 size, then cropped it so it fitted perfectly.  I went into the 'effect's section and had a play around in there until I had muted the colours down to the exact look I wanted, then I printed it off.

For the base paper I used the colour pick on the Brushes page and picked out the background colour of the pansy paper to get an exact match.  I then just printed that page off.  I cut the paper to size and used it as the base layer on the front and on the inside.

Taking some Papermania white textured card in A4 size I used one of my Martha Steward punches to make a lacey pane to run down the centre of the card.  I glued this down over the base layer on the front and inside of the card.  I then cut down the pansy paper to fit and stuck that to the lacey paper on both front and inside.

The digi image is (once again) from Cuddly Buddly.  I printed this off, cut it out using one of my Spellbinders circle dies then cut the next size circle out in the pansy paper, and the largest lacey circle in the Papermania white textured paper.  I have done this for the inside sentiment as well, but obviously without the stamped image.  The image was then coloured using Promarkers and I layered it up to form the topper.

I stamped out the sentiment using a freebie stamp (sorry, can't remember which mag but it's in the shops right now!) and layered up that in the same way as the main topper.

I decided that the lace edging was pretty enough so didn't want to overdo the embellishments so I just added three tiny flowers from my stash and a silver filigree butterfly, also from my stash.  And voila...a lacey tent card with a beautiful pansy paper.

Take care and have fun.

  1. I'm so excited as I have just discovered that this little card has been chosen for 'Today's Talent Spot' on the Joanna Sheen's Challenge Blog. Almost fainted when I saw it on there, but I'm very, very pleased!
    xx
