Norma J Burnell 'Fairy Tangles' Butterfly Fairy Owl Card

Morning everyone!

It's only me...again.  :o)

Don't forget to enter my candy (top post) if you'd like the chance to win a £50 voucher to spend on anything you like in my shop at Scribble and Scrap Crafts.  Just follow the simple rules and you could be the lucky winner.

Today I have a card for you which I have created using one of the most beautiful images ever!
I have a small selection of stamps due to be delivered from Sweet Pea Stamps and in the first shipment (I have ordered again but the second delivery won't be for a while) I have some beautiful stamps by the incredibly talented artist Norma J Burnell.  I only came across these a month or so ago and just fell in love with them so had to put in an order.  The stamps will be available in the shop as soon as they are delivered, which could be at any time!  So exciting!  You can actually see the listings now to see which will be included in the first delivery... Sweet Pea Stamps

For this card I have used the Butterfly Fairy Owl image which is so lovely and a lot of fun to colour.

The first photo is just a bit of fun from when I was playing around with the photos and I thought I'd have a look at it in black and white and liked the effect.  The other photos are how it looks in the flesh.

I selected the colours to go with the First Edition New Bloom 6x6 Paper pad, which is one of my favourites.  And the colours are so lush, aren't they?  I was going to colour the owl in bright colours as well, but I decided to colour him so that he stood apart from her a little more..he's so beautiful.

Promarkers used:

Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush, Baby Pink, Antique Pink, Marine, Turquoise, Cool Aqua, Poeny, Pink Lobster, Tropical Orchid, Walnut, Cocoa, Caramel, Sandstone, Satin, Ivory, Pineapple Crush, Daffodil Bloom, Eggnog, Putty and Blender.

The gorgeous pearls are also from my shop, but the matting card and charm are from my stash.  The sentiment was from a set I received for free with a magazine some time ago...Teddy Bo.  And the flower is my own and I am in the process of making a big batch of these to add to the shop...

I am so pleased with this card.  It's a fair way short of being perfect but I'm happy with it.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

  31. Such a stunning card. It would certainly have been a winner for me but unfortunately ignored our 10 challenge maximum rule so it can't be included in the voting. Such a huge shame.
