A Little Bit Shabby - A Little Bit Crafty DT Card

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all ok and having a good week?

Haven't we been having some lovely weather?  Shame to miss out on it but lots of crafting to be done!  A girl has to have her priorities right, doesn't she?  :o)

Anyway...it's October 1st which means it's the start of a new challenge over at Paula Holifield's
A Little Bit Crafty Challenge.  We have a lovely theme for you this month...A Little Bit Shabby!  So many of you love your shabby chic cards and we're all looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this one.

Here are the sponsors for this month's challenge...and the scrummy prizes:

  £7.50 voucher

So head over to A Little Bit Crafty and check out the rules and DT inspiration then into your craft rooms you go!  :o)

And here's my effort!

There are three different patterned papers here but, sadly, the patterns are so dainty that they don't show up in the photo.  The papers are from the Floral Breeze set by Bearly Mine.  The patterns are so pretty so it's a shame they don't show.

The matting layer was colour picked from the main backing paper so matches perfectly.  I have distressed the edges of all the layers with my distressing tool.

The vintage photo will be available as part of a set available at Scribble and Scrap at some point today.  I absolutely love these vintage images, they are so beautiful...well, not the ones that include stuffed animals or dead people.  The Victorians had some very strange ideas!  Lol.

The sentiment was created by using a LOTV stamp and the die cut was cut out of off white glitter card using a Marianne die.  All the silver filigree corners and the flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts and the brad, pearls, charm and bow were from my stash.

I enjoyed playing around with this one.  Its fun to just throw the layers about in all different directions and let them hang over the edges every now and then and I think it's worked ok here.

Right...don't forget to head over to A Little Bit Crafty and check out the rest of the DT's gorgeous projects.  They're all very different but all wonderful and well worth a look.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafts for Eternity  - Anything Goes - 4 Oct

Sister Act Card Challenge #26 - Anything Goes - 4 Oct

Take care everyone & happy crafting!
xx
