Maddie the Scarecrow Card.

Hi Folks!

Been off being busy again, I'm afraid.  It's becoming a nasty habit that I'm going to need to break so I can get more crafting done, lol.

Here's today's card:

The photos aren't the best, I'm afraid.  The image is darker than it looks and the brown, core'dinations matting card is actually lighter.  Not quite sure how they did a switch...who said camera's never lie?  Lol.

Anyway, she was coloured with my three flesh toned copics and my beloved Promarkers....shall try and remember what I used:

Copics:  E00, E11 and E21
Promarkers:  Walnut, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Caramel, Sandstone, Forest Green, Bright Green, Leaf Green, Pumpkin, Amber, Gold, Daffodil Bloom (LE), Eggnog (LE), Antique Pink, Baby Pink, Marine, Turquoise and Cool Aqua.

As you can see, very different colours for me but I'm loving the result!  It's a very easy to colour digi as well, so if you don't feel that confident at colouring, give this digi a try as it's lovely to do.

I've used my Spellbinders Labels 4, Circles and scalloped Circles dies for the base easel and topper and sentiment.  The other dies are all by Marianne.

I'd had the flower dies for ages (they're in the lacy oval set) but they looked so boring that I'd never used them.  What a massive mistake...they make the most beautiful flowers!  I just cut them out then cut each petal in towards the centre, shaped them then put them together using some gorgeous pearl brads from Hobby House .  I cut them out of paper from the First Edition Boho Chic paper pack and they are absolutely stunning and so easy to make...literally just put the brad on and scrunch then unscrunch...perfect.

The main backing paper was from a freebie with Simply Cards & Papercrafts magazine and was made especially for them by Hot off the Press.  This one just happened to be the perfect colour and had the tiny little flowers.

Now, I only had white pearls and wanted something simple to finish off so I grabbed my Starfish (LE) promarker and coloured some white pearls so that they went nicely with the bigger pearls on the brads.  And it worked absolutely perfectly.  I'd not done that before but will be doing it all the time from now on.  I love my pearls and now I'll make sure I've got masses of white ones to colour how I want.

The sentiment is a stamp (another magazine freebie) by Personal Impressions.

And that's it.  I'm pretty pleased with this one.  Love, love, love those flowers so you'll be seeing me using that die a lot from now on.  Shall be looking at other dies I don't use either, to see what else isn't anywhere near as boring as it looks!

Take care and happy crafting!
xx

I'd like to think that you keeping busy means you're staying out of trouble, but I just know that's not likely to be the case x
