Lacy Sunshine Challenge DT Card.

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok?

It's a really exciting day today as Lacy Sunshine is starting a brand new blog challenge.  The theme is Anything Goes (yay!) and the prize for the first challenge is doubled up to a $30 voucher to spend in the Lacy Sunshine store.  Think of the fabulous Heather Valentin digis you can buy with that!  If you go to the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog you'll find out all about it.  There's a separate page on there containing the rules and any other information you may require.  I really do hope you'll join us as it will be a lot of fun.  All projects featuring a stamped or digi image (hand coloured) will be welcome, though people who use Heather's digis will be entered into the draw twice for each entry.  Heather is even giving away a free digis for those who would like to use one of her digis in the challenge.  So come and join in the fun with this brand new challenge!

Ok...here's the card I've made for the challenge...and it's got a little bit of a twist to it.  I've used Heather's lovely Maddie 'n' Clover Groovy Music BUT added her brand new png Hippie Elements pack to go with it so I've been able to create a little scene!  These are brand spanking new to Lacy Sunshine and Heather's busy creating more of them for you, so that you can add to your basic digis as you wish.

Wow man!  Groovy!  Yep...Heather's giving us a fabulous camper in here elements set!  She's also given us the flowers in the top left corner, the Flower Power in the sentiment (not very clear in my pic - sorry) and the Hippie word above the camper (again...sorry, it's not very clear).  Also I've come up with an overlay for you made using the flowers.  This is how I've created the backing paper.  I've taken a coloured paper from My Craft Studios whacky Bunny Snuffles CD and placed my flower overlay over the top of it.  As the overlay is png, the colours show through in between the flowers.  You can either colour the flowers in or leave them plain as I have here.   As the element set is in png (unless you opt for jpg, which is pretty pointless for this one!) you can move the elements around in whatever software you use and bring them forward or push them backwards as you please to create your own scene.  Fun stuff, hey?

So, I set out the camper and Maddie 'n' Clover (who's a chameleon) how I wanted them onto the same MCS backing paper I used to create the backing paper, printed them off and coloured them using my promarkers.  Sorry, but for this one I did the colouring over a few days and didn't write down the colours I was using - slap hand!).

I cut the design and the sentiment (made in same way) using my Spellbinders circles and layered them onto layers cut using Spellbinders scalloped circles.

The flower embellies (coloured and glittered ones) were cut from Heather's digi.  The faux gems and faux gem flowers were from my stash.  And there you go...a card made using Lacy Sunshine's new Hippie Elements set.  Watch out for more of the sets as they will be appearing shortly.

My apologies for the long post but lots of information had to be added.  I really do hope you'll join us in the challenge.  Please head over there and take a look at the Creative Team Members' beautiful inspiration.

Take care and happy crafting!
xx

    1. Thank you DeBe! I've never used Bunny Snuffles either (it's awful!) but it's coming in handy for the hippie cards! :o) I knew it would have some use other than propping up the wonky coffee table, lol.

  18. Really gorgeous, I love this sweet image and the colours are fab. Your comment on my blog today really made me laugh, I am afraid I didn't follow orders though. lol I visited Janets blog and for some reason I had it in my head it was yours (I think it's because I am so used to seeing Heathers images on yours and my tired brain just got muddled) anyway I left a comment rambling on about you making me laugh and then had to leave her another one apologising when I realized what I had done lol and now I am rambling on your blog too and it's nearly 11.30 when I am writing this, ooops lol it seems I didn't do anything I was told to today, gonna go hide before you tell me off lol
