Lizabeth, Key to my Heart Part Two.

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and busy crafting?  Don't mean to rub it in for those who have snow, but we have such a spring-like day here right now...the sort of day when I really wish I was up in The Lakes having a good walk.

Anyway...today is the second part (and concluding episode, lol) to Lizabeth, Key to my Heart!  Now, as you'll see, Prince Charming didn't turn up...Keanu Reeves didn't turn up...NO ONE turned up...so I've shoved her on a card!

Now, I say 'shoved,' but I mean 'lovingly placed after a lot of care and consideration...and piddling around finding the right papers!'  :o)    Because I want to enter this card into two specific challenges I had to firstly use pastel colours, and secondly, follow a sketch.  And what a sketch it is!!!  It's the best sketch I've seen and I absolutely love it as it allows the papers and image to do the work rather than masses of embellies, and I'm really into cleaner cards right now.

At this point I would like to ask 'is it ok to absolutely adore something you've created yourself? because I absolutely love, love, love this card!!!  Am I bad?  Tough if I am, lol.

So here's the gorgeous Lizabeth with the backdrop I feel she deserves (thanks to the fab sketch!).

I think this card has to go down on record as being one of my favourites (if not THE favourite) out of all the cards I've made so far, and I'll definitely be using this sketch again.  Not only does it do a great job at showing off your work, but it also uses up all those little scraps of paper left in your stash.

For this card, I've used a 6 x 6 scalloped square base card.

Matting layers are pale pink textured cardstock from Papermania.

The main backing paper is from Crafter's Companion's S.W.A.L.K Pawfect Pets CD - I adjusted the colour slightly.  The rest of the papers are from Wild Rose Studio Vintage Rose pack,  Papermania Capsules pack and, I think, a bit of Hunkydory paper.

I coloured the fabulous Lizabeth image using my promarkers (colours used listed on the post below this one).

I created the sentiment on my computer.

The gorgeous flowers (I adore these at the moment) were cut from pink Core'dinations Gemstone cardstock using my Cheery Lynn Medium Rose die.  These can be played around with and really do like little roses when you do that, but right now I'm really into just cutting them and sticking two together with a brad, which is silver and from my stash.

The beautiful key charm was part of a lovely Christmas gift sent by my Joanna Sheen Challenge DT boss, Paula.  Thanks Paula! xx

The image (as you'll know if you read yesterday's post) is a fabulous new dig from Heather Valentin which can only legally be purchased from her store Lacy Sunshine.  If you pop over there right now you'll see a $1 sale where she's retiring some gorgeous digis...including a number from Christmas 2012...so recent ones!   Go grab yourself a few and have a play...they're beautiful.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
