Eleanor & Pickles at the North Pole Lacy Easel.

Hi Folks!

hope you're all having a great weekend and that the weather's not too bad where you are.

Today's card features Heather Valentin's fabulous Eleanor & Pickles and this time they're visiting the North Pole!  How's that for bravery?  I'm becoming pretty addicted to these characters as they're so much fun to colour and give such brilliant results.  They also allow you total freedom of colour choices, though for this one I've stayed pretty traditional.

Can you see why I'm really loving working with these digis now?  They're just so brilliantly done and so adorable.

You can buy Heather's wonderful digis from  here.  Remember that this is the only place offically authorised to sell the digis so please support the artist!

I've used one of my lacy edged easel bases for this one, using Martha Stewart's Aspen punch around the page set.  My Jamie loves this as it leaves millions of little snowflakes over the floor and he's collecting them, lol.  For a change I've made this one a little larger than usual and the card pieces were cut to 6.75 x 6.75 inches and 6.75 x 13.5 inches.  Still works exactly the same as in my tutorial (top of the page, though).

I've kept to traditional Christmas colours with this one...and used my promarkers.  Pretty pleased with how I've done with this digi...I'm getting better each time which is very satisfying.  They take me a long time to colour at the moment but I'll get faster with experience and practice.

The matting layers are Papermania Textured cardstock and the backing paper is one I got as a freebie with a mag (sorry, can't remember which) and is from the Humphry's Corner range.

I have used a corner cutter thingy to round off the corners off all the matting layers, the backing papers and the topper so that they fit the easel base nicely.

I've made a 'stopper' using the punches, card and paper, then ran a piece of red ribbon across it (tucking it underneath).

I've added glitter to the snowy bits on the topper, used a LOTV stamp to create the sentiment (cut with a Spellbinders circle die), and then finished off with a couple of Spellbinders snowflakes cut out of glitter card and with an added red faux gem in the centre of each as well as in two of the corners and on the base in front of the sentiment.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Emma's Crafty Challenge where the theme is 'Let it Snow!'
http://craftybloggersnetwork.blogspot.co.uk/  where the theme is 'Anything Goes.'
http://ilovepromarkers.blogspot.co.uk/ where the theme is 'Anything Goes.'

Yep...pretty pleased with this one.
 Hope you like it too.

Take care & happy crafting!
xx
