Meadow Cottage Bears Open Book Card.

Hi Folks!

hope you're all ok?

I have some incredible news for you!  Yesterday, over on the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog they announced the new members of the Design Team...and I made it!  I got a place, although I really did think I'd blown it this time.  So as you can imagine, I'm a very, very Happy Hopper, and I'm looking forward to getting to know my fellow teamies (new and old) and working with them all.  Congratulations to the other girls who made it, and commiserations to the ones who didn't quite get there this time.  I believe that it was a massively close call and it's such a shame that we couldn't all get a place BUT the other 7 will be doing 2 guest DT spots each over the coming year, which will be brilliant.  Big hugs all round!  xx

Anyway, I'm seriously into making Open Book Cards again now that I am using CA2 as it makes it so much easier to get them all set up.  I've always loved the cutting out and putting together, but sometimes things haven't worked as well as I'd have liked but now it's so much easier.  If anyone's interested I'd be happy to do a tutorial on how to design and create them...just let me know in the comment section...

As you can see, I chose to use Crafter's Companion's Meadow Cottage Bears CD, which is yet another stunner.  Both the papers and the adorable image are taken from the CD, and the sentiment was pinched from a free site on the Net, though I forgot to note down which one...sorry!  It's a beautiful verse, though, and not too much.

I didn't decoupage this one, though it would have been just as effective if I had done.  And I've used a lot of bling (for me).  Photos of these cards really do not do them justice at all, but they are very beautiful to hold in your hand.

I have printed this on to canvas paper and edged each layer of pages with very thin border peel offs.  I then added a silver bow and some clear faux gems from my stash.

Remember to give me a shout if you would like me to do a tutorial on Open Book Cards.  They're lovely to make and really do make a lovely gift, especially if boxed.  They're definite keepers!

Take care and happy crafting!
xx

    1. Well, CA2 would be best as you'd be able to make our own page shaped punches, but you can do them other ways. I'll do a tute as soon as I can and mention the different ways then.
