Joanna Sheen Challenge 'Silhouette' DT Card.

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all ok and remembered to change the clocks?  I did but still didn't get my lie in thanks to Jamie singing Jingle Bells as loud as he could and the dog wanting to go out.  Big mistake in forgetting to tell her that the clocks changed, lol.

Today's card is my first card as a full time member of Joanna Sheen's Challenge DT.  I have had a couple of cards on there as Guest DT, but this is the real thing...very exciting for me and the other new members of the team.  So please head over there and have a look to see the gorgeous, inspirational cards that everyone has come up with and have a go at the challenge.  The theme for this challenge is 'Silhouettes' so it's a nice one, and can be found here.

And here's my card:

For this card I have used a gorgeous ballerina stamp from the Joanna Sheen Silhouette Rubber Stamps set Ballerina JS326 which can be purchased here.  There are some really beautiful silhouettes in this set.

So I have made an easel base using white Supersmooth card and my Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 die (large size).  I have then used the Labels 8 dies (plain) to cut out the other layers from Papermania black textured cardstock, a pink dotty backing paper from my stash, and a plain white one for the topper.

With the topper layer, I kept the die cut in the die and used my distressing inks to give a nice pink background using my Inkylicious Ink Dusters which are also available from Joanna Sheen here.  These are absolutely fabulous to use and make distressing much easier.

After distressing the topper layer, I have stamped on the silhouette ballerina from the set, then added some tiny little flowers from a Docrafts Forever Friends stamp set, and also used a sentiment stamp from the same set stamped onto some of the dotty paper for the sentiment.

Using my foam pads and Collall All Purpose glue I've assembled it, added some gorgeous roses from Wild Orchid and voila...my first official DT card for the Joanna Sheen Challenge!

Really hope that you can join us there this time.  I, for one, love seeing all your cards as they appear, and I know the others do as well.

So have a look here and give it a go!  You can even enter by email if you don't have a blog, and the more the merrier.  The first place prize is £15 to spend on the Joanna Sheen site, which is fabulous.  If you've never looked at the site, then click here.

Best of luck everyone.

Take care and happy crafting!
xx
