White on White Christmas Card.

Yo Craft Dudes!

How'z it hanging?  Hee hee.

Hope you're all ok and covered in ink and glitter.  I know I am and my little lad's not escaped either...mwahahaha!

Today's card is a white on white Christmas card which I've just made for the 52 Christmas Card Throw Down challenge.  The theme this week is, er, white on white, lol.  One of my favourite things to do actually, only this time I wanted to use glitter card and had trouble getting pure white.  I went to my craft shop twice and both times I picked up what looked like pure white...got it home and held it up next to Supersmooth and it's not pure white but off white.  I figure that's close enough...or I hope it is.  It doesn't look very white in the pics but that's because I'm rubbish at editing on Windows 7 and it's reflecting the light from my Otlite which I put over my cards when taking the photos.  Hope it passes as ok for the challenge.  I actually quite like this and it would make a lovely and very classy wedding card too.

Sorry, I can't remember which embossing folder it is, but the dies for the pointsetters (sp?) are from Marianne.  I've used both size flowers for this card.

The bow is from my stash (off white).

Also, the stamp was from Ebay a while ago and I have no idea who from.  It was unbranded.  It's hard to see it because I've stamped it in white and embossed it in clear (though it does show up well on the card), and it reads 'One of the special joys of December is telling others we care and remember,' which I think is lovely.

The base card was cut using one of my Cheery  Lynn dies.  It's from the Reflections Boutique Mega Dies collection, and is the Mini Pearl Square Mega Doily.  It's not what I was expecting as I hadn't realised that you only get half the die and you have to cut it twice making sure you line up properly...unless you do what I did and cut through two layers of card leaving the fold at the top uncut.  It adds quite a pretty, subtle edge.

I'm entering this card in the following challenge:  http://52cct.blogspot.co.uk/

Happy crafting Folks!
Take care
xx

  2. Wow Lexie thats stunning. I love single colour cards they look elegant. Hope you do well in the challenge

Got a set of half Cheery Lynne dies given to me by a crafty friend as she couldnt use them. They are heart borders. I find them hard to line up.

    1. Thanks Carrie.

When I make a similar card to sell (which I will) I'll make the stamping stand out more and fiddle about a bit more with the embellishments, but it's a nice base.

I bought the heart edged ones as well...the square set. I've only fiddled a little and they aren't easy, are they? I'm pretty disappointed in them really. I must be dopy as I didn't realise they were only half a die.

  7. Love your card and all the snowflakes. The poinsettia die is from Marianne; is that a company? I would love to find a die to cut those ;) Thanks for sharing this card.

    1. Hi Tracy,
      thank you for your comment.

Yes, Marianne's is a company and they make Marianne Creatables and Craftables. You can get them in most online craft places, including Ebay. They're very reasonably priced and just a bit different.

    1. Have to be honest Carrie...I'm pleased with it as a base card, but if I'd taken a bit more time (I left it until the last minute as I had been planning something else) it could have been a lot better. I'll definitely be using the basic idea for other cards, though.

      Take care
      Lexie.
