Sugar Nellie.

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all having a good weekend?

I've just been having a little play with my Spectrum Noirs.  I've not got around to using them all that much because I love my promarkers, but lately I've noticed that my promarkers are drying out even though they're stored properly...even the ones which haven't been used.  So I thought that as I had a big set of Speccies I'd go over to them as I know they're more juicy...and I bought the rest of them.  But using them today I've found they're nowhere near as good as promarkers at blending.  Promarkers are much easier to blend and these are going to take some getting used to.  Think I'll be starting to collect some Copics in preparation for the future...

Anyway, today's card is a quickie but a cutey.  I've used a gorgeous Sugar Nellie digi and she's just lovely.  As I say, it was really just to get used to the Speccies, so it's nowhere near brilliant and I've kept the card very simple, but I still think it's pretty and worthy of a place on here (which is more than I can say for some of my other cards, lol).

Isn't she absolutely beautiful?  There are so many extremely talented artists out there.  Sorry...I'll have to start looking into who has done what but I bought a number of these the other day and it's all gone over my head, as these artists deserve recognition, especially as they allow us to use their fabulous work.

Well, she was printed off on my printer and I attacked the poor girl with my Speccies.  It doesn't actually look like a bad job on here, but it's not brilliant and I definitely need to try harder and practice more!

The rest of the card is simply matting card from Papermania, use of Spellbinders dies and a couple of lovely silver filigree corners and roses from Wild Orchids.  Oh...and my beloved faux pearls from my stash.  The backing paper is one from a Fizzy Moon set.  Simple but cute.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Happy Crafting!
Take care
xx

  1. Hello Lexie, considering the first time you have used Spectrum Noirs this is fabulous. I gave up with mine and have gone back to Promarkers and I can't recommend Copic's enough. Your card as always is fabulous.

    Hugs to you both

  2. Thanks Linda. I did try them once a few months ago when I first got the big set which was the pick of the week (or day), but that's all. I remember then finding the red splodged a lot so had stuck to my promarkers. I guess I'll get used to them and will use them, but I'm not happy with them and will start collecting copics in my favourite colours and then build from there as I run my Speccies down.
