Meadow Cottage Bears.

Hi Everyone!

Hope you're all ok?  It's wet, wet, wet here, so I've been busy crafting away and fiddling around with my blog...in case you've not noticed.  And I absolutely love the new look.  We are so lucky as there are some amazing artists out there who allow us to use their background and header designs to make beautiful blogs - for free!  They're incredible!  I got this design from this fab lady and I'm hugely grateful to her.

Anyway, today's cards is my first Meadow Cottage Bears card.  It's from the CD by Crafters' Companion which features the beautiful work of Christine Haworth.

I have started with a scalloped edge 6x6 card - they add so much!

The background paper is from one of the companion sets on the CD, as is the topper image, the sentiment and the buttons.  The ribbon strip/border is from the borders section.

I have used a dark pink textured card from Papermania for all the matting, and the buttons and topper were cut using my Grand Calibur and my Spellbinders circle dies.  The little flowers were cut out of the matting card...can't remember who made the die for that, but it's purple.  They have been finished off with a faux pearls for the centres.

I'm not a fan of cardboard buttons, but I've used extra thick embossing powder and treble embossed these so that they look like the real thing and have more oomph to them.

The inside has been decorated to match.

As I mentioned the other day, I've been trying out the Collall All Purpose Glue.  Well, I'm pleased to report that it's absolutely brilliant for matting and layering!  I love it.  It's so much cleaner to use and it does seem to have a very strong bond which the foto glues don't have.  So I'll be using it all the time now and using my Pinflair gel for all my embellishments.  Perfick.

Happy Crafting!
xx
