Just a Quick Post.

I'm having problems with my lappy today.  I've had two blue screens of death so far, and ran a diagnostic which said it couldn't locate the hard drive.  I'm back on and trying to get it sorted.  Going to back anything up that I might not already have done and contact the nice people at Dell.  I've had this before where the hard drive wobbled and then it died so if I vanish, I'll be back!  Lol.  Talk about bad timing...and thank god for warranties!

  1. Noooooo.... have had that happen to me too and unfortunately I hadn't managed to back up before it 'died' completely. Fingers crossed you're sorted!

  2. I'm pretty sure it's going to go, so I'm backing up everything I can get hold of. I back most of it as I go anyway, but I'm so worried about losing anything important that I'm backing it up again to make sure.

    It's so annoying as I was going to be getting a new lappy soon so that Jamie could have this one as his is on its last legs and I really dread having to set up this one again as well as a new one, lol.

    I've got on to Dell (email) and should hear from them tomorrow. It won't let me do their diagnostics and I've just ran my own again and is said it was fine this time but it definitely couldn't locate the hard drive the first time. That makes me think that it's not that it just needs reseating as I didn't touch it or move the machine.

    This happened before a couple of years ago and I managed to get some of my stuff off it when it would detect the hard drive, but not all of it. Couldn't happen at a more annoying time. At least Dell are really fast at sending out replacement parts if you need them.
