Faye Whittaker Lacy Easel Card.

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok?  I'm fine but took a day out yesterday to do a bit of thinking and stuff.

It's a beautiful, sunny day here, so hope you're all getting some of it too.  I can't believe how mild it is.

Anyway...I've cracked it!  I'm so chuffed with myself.  I adore my lacy easels but wanted something a little bitter and I've done it.  This one is still small for most people (I like smaller cards) but it's bigger than my other lacy easels as the die measures approx 5"...so much bigger!

Woohoo...isn't it lovely?  And I can get away with saying that as I didn't design the die or the artwork, lol.

I've used the Cheery Lynn English Tea Party die which I bought from Joanna Sheen and it can be found here

It's not a quick process and you do need to be patient but it's clearly doable and I think it's beautiful and so, so delicate.  It fits in perfectly with the gorgeous Faye Whittaker image I have chosen (by Joanna Sheen and also available on her site).

The only thing I don't like about this card is the ribbon, which isn't quite the right blue.  I did have the perfect blue but it was too stiff to make a nice small bow from, so I've put this one on just because I couldn't wait to take the photo and get it on here!  So the bow has now been removed and will be replaced when I raid the craft shop for more ribbon.  This one is pinched from a packet of Me To You bows.

And that's it.  This card - or the ability to do it now - has really made my day.  Thank you very much Cheery Lynn!

Hope you like it.

  1. Another beautiful card Lexie, it reminds me of a piece of fine china. I agree about the bow though, have you thought about using your markers on some white ribbon to get the colour you want.

    1. Yep...thought of that, A, and tried it but it tends to make the ribbon even more stiff. Have no fear, though...we have a fab little haberdashers just down the road (with a good little crafty bit) so we'll pick some more up over the weekend.

  2. Lovely card. Totally agree with Droxie, it does remind you of china. I adore the lace effect yet again It's nice to know the dimensions as photographs don't always indicate size. Try to keep cheerful, things will get better though it does take time. xxx

  6. Why am I thinking of a nice cup of tea and slice of my grandma's chocolate cake???? Oh yes, it's that beautiful lacy doily - grandma would never put cake out unless it was on a doily and looked perfect - just like your card Lexie!!!
