And now on to Challenge #30 (where on earth does the time go?) over at Scribble and Scrap Crafts
More
information can be found on the blog but basically it's an Always
Anything Goes challenge, runs for a fortnight and there are two winners
prizes (one Random drawn and the other selected) of £10 of vouchers each
to be spent on any of the products in my Scribble and Scrap Crafts shop.
Ok...on with my card and I have to admit to being more than just a little bit proud of this one. I had the papers picked out and the layout planned in my head. Yesterday, I spent 4 hours handstitching the layers (I did inside as well) which was really relaxing but not something I'll be doing all the time, lol. But it was well worth all the effort for this card as I absolutely love it. I know I've said it before, but this is by far the best card I have ever made (in my opinion), although the photos don't quite do it justice. It's a little softer and more feminine in the flesh and feels so luxurious. Why does paper pricking make card and paper feel like really high quality, soft leather?
Anyway...here it is:
Waddyafink?
This is a sneaky peek at one of the new Sweet Pea Stamps rubber stamps which will be in the shop in a few weeks time. It's by Norma J Burnell and is called 'Fairy Tangles - Guardian of the Meadow.' Isn't it absolutely fabulous? Can you see the little pink and brown bird on her shoulder and the little pink ladybirds on her hair? So cute?
I really made this one difficult on myself because I was determined to make it fit in with the papers colourwise so I was really restricted with the Promarkers I could use. Right until the last few minutes I was thinking that it was likely to end up in the bin, but then it came together right at the very end, so if you're colouring one of these images and thinking it's not looking right, keep going...it will come together. I've not done that great a job of colouring this one but it'll do me and I'm happy with how it works as a completed card.
The items I used which are available in the shop are:
and the stamp will be available in the shop shortly.
From my stash I have used some pink card, light brown thread and silver corners from WOC.
The base is a 7x7 scalloped edged card blank.
I have cut little leaves for the flowers out of the stripey backing paper offcuts using a Joanna Sheen Signature Die set.
The inside is decorated to match.
I used the following Promarkers to colour the image:
Walnut, Cocoa, Caramel, Sandstone, Satin, Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush, Baby Pink, Antique Pink, Pine, Forest Green, Bright Green, Almond, Cocktail Pink, Rose Pink, Dusky Pink, Blossom and the Blender.
All I can say is thank god it worked! Hugely relieved after all that effort and stress, lol. Don't expect all that work every time...back to my normal rubbish for my next card. :o)
I shall be entering this card into the following challenges:
