Hi everyone!
In case you haven't noticed, I now have a new blog name and new url to find the blog. Yay. I have finally managed to drop the Lexie name that I picked up when I used it to go on a forum. I wasn't going to use my usual name for that, so I used Lexie ... an alternative version.
But now I've finally dropped the Lexie, and made my blog all pretty with its new name and addy. Yay.
Now to make sure people know.

My New Credroom and Marker Storage.
Hi everyone!
Hope you're all okay and that you've been busy in my long absence. I'm so excited to be getting back into crafting after a bit of a break, and actually made a card today, but I'm not blogging it until I've given it to the recipient.
However, for those of you who follow me on FB you may have seen that I've mentioned my new craftroom which has a bit of a twist ... in that it's a credroom! :o) My little Hobbit Hole (flat built into a hill) is absolutely tiny. My bedroom is the biggest of the two and it only measures 8 foot 4 by just under 9 foot 6. How I had it before was with my 4 foot wide bed, a huge (for the space) 5 foot by 3 foot craft table, a tall bookcase, a chest of drawers, and lots of little plastic storage towers. I could hardly move. Is it any wonder that I needed a break from crafting ... especially as everything ended up piled on the craft table as I had no room for it. :o)
Anyhoo ... I got into spring cleaning just after Christmas, and took things a bit further. I hadn't planned on a new 'credroom,' but it happened and I'm so glad it did as I flipping well love it. I can lie in my new single (it's making a statement!) bed, with my craft units one side and desk the other side. It's not quite finished as I have my eye on some really gorgeous vintage boxes, so will be replacing the other patterened boxes in the photos when I can. I also need to sort out some better storage for my cutting dies (in patterened boxes at the mo), but have a few ideas, but not decided which to go for yet. Watch this space.
I have, however, sorted out new storage for my beloved promarkers ... well, a full set and a few others as well, as I have more than 2 sets in case I run out, lol. Before I get into that, I'll show you my lovely credroom. Still need to pretty it a bit more, and need some pics up, but I'm so loving it!!!!
Ta-da!!! My credroom!

Ta-da!!! My credroom!
I can lie in bed, reach out, and stroke my crafty stash! How fab is that?
It's a new metal frame bed with big storage boxes underneath.
My new units. They're a set of 3 base units with 3 small units to match on top. Those plastic boxes which are sticking out will not be there for long.
This is my new desk. It's 4 foot by 2 foot, but there's a rad behind it, so it can't go back fully. I have placed a piece of veneered chipboard along the back to cover the hole so I can stand things on there.
The books are part of my collection which were in my big bookcase which has now gone. Need to find somewhere else for them.
I bought these large jars a while ago and the small ones recently ... they're both from Tesco. I'm keeping buttons, beads and candi in the small ones so I can see exactly what I have got, and some of my mulberry flowers are in the larger ones ... mainly to look pretty, but be functional as well.
There's room in the cupboards for things like my Silhouette Cameo, which will keep the dust of it as it's so rarely used. :o)
These aren't new, but I have kept them because they are brilliant for storing my distress ink pads and accessories in. I have different colour families in each drawer.
Yay! I finally have a room that I can not only move in, but can also sleep comfortably in AND craft in ... and just make it look pretty. :o) So chuffed with the results.
And in one of the pics you'll have spotted my new marker storage.
I did buy a big Artbin double deep satchel from Hobbycraft, and was going to spend £40 on buying the marker trays, but thought that was a crazy thing to do, especially as the Artbin is pretty flimsy. So I had a look at the Really Useful Bin site, worked out what size I would need, and ordered an 18 litre one from Ebay for £12.95 plus free p&p
I also bought a piece of
from Ebay for £7.70 plus free p&p.
That gave me enough of the filter stuff to cut in half with a saw, trimmed it up to fit (I need to tidy mine as I was in a rush to get it all fixed up), and mine fits just right so it's tight so I don't need any glue. There are two layers so with the holes lined up so that the pens don't move around.
As you can see, this will hold all sorts of pens, including my lovely Promarkers (still room for the Limited Edition ones I'm missing!), Graph Its, and various Copics. Most of my Promarkers have the extra fine nibs added, and there's around 1 cm clearance with the lid on. They stand up very securely either with the lid on or off, and can stand on the side as well. Perfect solution to have the best of both worlds ... up on your desk and not taking much room up, or on the sofa beside you. These boxes are very very strong, and it will be perfect for me to take my PMs on holibobs with me. :o)
So there you are ... the ultimate way to store your pens and keep them in order. They just slot in and out without any problems at all. Yay! And I've used the Artbin box I bought to keep my papers in, so they have a nice home as well.
Right ... I will be blogging a couple of cards in the next few days ... then I need to find time for more crafting, more blogging, and more credroom storage solutions.
Hope you like my credroom. I'm so flipping chuffed with it. :o)
Take care and Happy Crafting!

Cobwebs.
Wow! It's a bit dusty in here ... and just look at those cobwebs! Looks like I have some clearing up to do before I start posting again. :o)
After having a break for a while, I'm now itching to get back to doing some crafting ... as and when I can find time around working, adventuring with Jamie, and playing with furry things. I've been a busy girl for the last couple of weeks, and have been designing and building a new craft room, which I will reveal in a week or two. Yay!
In the meantime I'd better get dusting all these cobwebs away! Might even change my blogs name ... we shall see. Actually, I will as I don't want to be known as 'Lexie' anymore. Shall have a think ...
See you soon everyone!

Challenge #43 Always Anything Goes DT Card
Hi everyone!
Hope you are all well and have been enjoying some of the amazing weather we've been having lately. We've certainly been making the most of it, as we've been here there and everywhere. We've visited Osborne House some more, and made our first visit to Carisbrooke Castle. We've been on walks, drives, visited zoos and museums, and had lots of picnics in fabulous places. We have most fun at the Isle of Wight Zoo, though. Check out Jamie being mobbed by a mob of his little meerkat buddies. :o) He has his hands in his pockets so that he isn't tempted to stroke them, as they could think his fingers are mealworms and take a nibble. We have such a brilliant time at that zoo each week, and the staff and animals are amazing.
Anyhoo, it's time for Challenge #43 over at Scribble and Scrap and the team have created some beautiful inspirational projects for you.
In spite of all our adventures and working my butt off, I've even found time to come up with a card as well. Yay.
I have used Sweet Pea Stamps Norma J Burnell Forget Me Not rubber stamp for this card. Isn't she so beautiful?
After I closed the shop, I had two US deliveries still to arrive. One was from Whimsy Stamps and the other from Sweet Pea Stamps. I have these stamps up for sale on the Scribble and Scrap Facebook Page so head over and take a look to see what's left. Each stamp is listed as an individual post so you will have to scroll down to see each one.
To create this card I also used Craftwork Cards papers, Hobby House flowers and pearls, and matting card from my stash. The inside is decorated to match.
Hope you come over and join in the challenge!
Take care and happy crafting!

Challenge #42 at Scribble and Scrap.
Hi everyone!
Hope you're all okay?
I know I've been pretty quiet lately. I'm working so hard and going on so many adventures with Jamie that it's becoming increasingly difficult to find time for crafting. I am thinking of adding blog posts of some of our adventures on here to share with you. What do you think? The island is such an amazing place that it's a shame not to share some of it with you.
Anyway, I have managed to make a quick card this week, which is fab as it's just in time for the start of Challenge #42 over at Scribble and Scrap.
As always, the challenge is Anything Goes, so can't wait to see what you all come up with.
All the information is on the challenge blog.
Anyhoo, here is my card.
How adorable is this image?
As I said, this was a really quick card.
I used a Lily of the Valley Pretty Girl Topper
Nitwit Country Meadow Papers (just one paper)
Wild Orchid Leaves
Flowers are from my stash. I think the red ones are Prima.
Brads from stash.
Textured card from stash.
The inside is decorated to match.
Don't forget to join us in the challenge.
Take care and happy crafting!

Challenge #39 - And Shutting Down the Shop + DT Call
Hi everyone!
Hope you're all okay and having a great weekend?
Well, it's been a hectic week here on Dinosaur Island as I decided to close the
Scribble and Scrap Shop as I am just too busy to keep it going.
This means that we have a sale running until Tuesday when the shop will close.
If you would like to grab a bargain, head to the shop before we run out (stocks are seriously limited now) and enter the code BigSale33 at checkout. Don't forget to do that, as the discount can not be added once the sale is complete.
********
But panic ye not! The Scribble and Scrap Challenge will be carrying on! Yay.
Nothing at all is going to change on that front, so carry on crafting!
Challenge #39 is just starting so come and join the fun.
All the information you could want is on there, and there will still be two
winners, each receiving the following prize.
Joanna Sheen Cardmaking Pad
We're also doing a DT Call so don't miss out! The information is on the challenge blog.
Not only is it carrying on, but it's going to be more fun for me as well as now I can use any crafty products I like in creating my cards. Woohoooooo! If I'm feeling really nice, I might let the rest of the team do the same, lol.
So, here's this week's card.
Ever since I was a little girl, I've always loved horses and used to have Thelwell wallpaper and a lamp. I used to be such a horsey-head, that I painted a bit of wood with hoof oil, just so my bedroom smelled of the stables. :o)
This images are from the Crafter's Companion Thelwell CD, but I only used two digi images, one for the topper and one to create my own background paper, which I thought was quite cute.
Absolutely love Thelwell. Expect to see me making more Thelwell cards in the future.
Don't forget to check to see if we have any stock left in the sale!
Take care and happy crafting!

A little update after the sadness last week when the Isle of Wight Zoo lost their lovely tiger, Diamond. We went to spend some time with his twin sister, Aysha, this week and she's doing brilliantly. Everyone has been so worried about her as she and Diamond have been together since they were born (around 17 years ago) so there was a big risk she might do some serious pining. However, when we saw her she was asleep on her monument the other side of her big pond. We called and she looked up...then went back to sleep. She looked so chilled! We went back a little later after visiting some of our other furry friends there, and this time she got up when we called. She stretched, yawned, came down the steps and walked round the pond past her duck friends and came to us chuffing away to say hello. Chuffing's the noise tigers make in greeting. We chatted to her for a while and then she started getting soppy. I knew what she wanted as I've seen her doing it with the keepers sometimes, so I got Jamie to run up and down and she chased him! Obviously there were two fences between them, but it was so cool. Every time Jamie stopped, Aysha stopped. Every time Jamie turned, Aysha turned. And each time they came back to me she would go all soppy and rub her head against the fence hoping for a stroke, which I obviously couldn't give her. How flipping cute! She's just a great big, soppy kitty and had a lovely game with Jamie. So pleased to see her and know she's doing ok without her beautiful brother. We'll make a big point of spending extra time with her whenever we go now. Not every little boy gets to play with a tiger! :o)
Anyway...it's time for Challenge #37 over at the Scribble and Scrap Challenge

Challenge #36 Midway Reminder DT Card - Scribble and Scrap
Morning everyone!
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend? We're off on a Fossil Walk with Dinosaur Isle Museum shortly and we're really looking forward to it as we're being led by Trevor and we've not taken part in a walk with him. Should learn quite a bit..
We've been out on Yaverland Beach already this week and it was so beautiful. We didn't find anything but just being there was fabulous. The skies were blue, the sun was bright and the views were stunning...as was the sea. There was no one else around except for a few bunnies at the top of the cliffs. I told Jamie to just look all around him and see how lucky he is as most other kids were stuck in a classroom at that time while all we could see IS his classroom. Fabulous.
And we've had a lovely visit to Amazon World Zoo this week and really enjoyed playing with the tamarins through the glass and watching the armadillos scurrying around in their new home. AND we finally got a good look at the Tamandua (small anteater) who is adorable.
Then on Friday we made our weekly visit to the Isle of Wight Zoo and had such a lovely time. It's an incredible zoo as you really get to know all the animals (and staff) as individuals. Loved spending time with the three Capuchin monkeys yesterday. There's Timmy (who sticks his tongue out and wriggles his eyebrows at you), Bailey (much smaller than the other two) and Harley...who always looks so grumpy but gave us much amusement yesterday as he was waiting for his keeper to bring him some grapes and was trying to get us (it was so obvious!) to tell her to hurry up. :o)
But then came the sadness after such a wonderful day...they lost their beautiful tabby tiger, Diamond. He'd been very poorly with kidney problems for a few months and lost so much weight. Charlotte (the zoo owner) was sleeping in with him at nights to feed him and he had the best veterinary treatment but it wasn't helping. Charlotte hand reared him and his sister Aysha and he really was a very special and much loved boy. I saw him being hand fed and he was so gentle and loving. He would chuff at everyone in greeting and so many people are sad at this huge loss. And poor Aysha is going to miss her brother desperately as they were so close. Really is so sad. The zoo is a very special place and most of the big cats are now elderly (including Diamond and Aysha) and were rescued. Because the zoo is so open and welcoming and so keen for everyone to get to know their animals, it's a huge upset to everyone when there is a loss, like this. Jamie takes the losses better than I do, thankfully. I always blub. :o( And Diamond was my favourite there. At least I'll still get lovely chuffs from Aysha. Never been chuffed at by a tiger before.
My heart goes out to Charlotte and all the staff...they love the animals so much...
Anyhoo... (wipes away tears) it's time for a midway reminder for Challenge #36, which is, as always, Anything Goes and it can be found here.
And here's my card.
Yep...it's another CAS card...yay!

Lillibet DT Card - Challenge #35
Hi everyone!
And a very happy 2015 to each and every one of you. Wishing you all health, wealth and happiness.
We have no big plans for this year except to carry on having masses of fun in our new home.
Jamie's so pleased as he had his photo put on the Dinosaur Isle FB page the other day after we had been on a fossil walk and found a large chunk of pyritised wood. It's only around 120 million years old. He wasn't strong enough to hold it on his own so a young lady who came on the walk with her family helped him while I hid from the camera.

Sonia's E-Book for the NSPCC
Hi everyone!
Hope you're all ok and ready for Santa to drop down your chimney on Christmas Eve?
In case you've not seen the posters on Facebook, a short while ago I was asked if I would like to take part in the creation of an e-book of Promarker tutorials to raise funds for the NSPCC.
The fabulous tutorials have been created by Donna-Marie Jerrett and Sonia Jackson has done all the organising and putting the e-book together. Myself and some really talented crafters were asked if we could possibly take part and come up with some inspirational cards using the chosen image which is Mo Manning's Baby Angel Castiel. As it's in such a good cause I jumped at the chance and duly made the card below which is included in the ebook.
I'm not going to give you any details about the card as it's all in the e-book so you can jolly well contact Sonia and buy the e-book if you would like to see what I colours and materials I have used. It is, after all, in a very good cause and the NSPCC does such a brilliant job and helps so many children who aren't having the best of times. Sonia is only asking for a donation of £5 for the e-book and we need to raise as much as we can for the kids who need help so badly so please spread the word and pass the information on to your friends.
Anyhoo...here's my card.
Take care everyone and have a fabulous Christmas!

NJB Cybele & Kaida DT Card - Challenge #34
Hi everyone!
Hope you're all ok and ready for Santa...that is, of course, if you've been nice and not norty! :o)
We're all ready and so excited about our first Christmas on the island. We were hoping to be able to go fossil hunting in the morning but the tide's wrong and we'd get wet so will find somewhere we've not been before for a nice walk...if it's not chucking down.
We had a fabulous fossil walk last Sunday. There was only me, Jamie and another lady with Steve to lead us and we learned so much about the geology of Yaverland. We didn't find a great deal but did come back with a whopper of a fossilised, ancient oyster AND I found the most beautiful ammonite imprint. It was only small but absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, it was in soft clay and it would have destroyed it to have brought it home so we left it there. It's survived at least 65 million years and I didn't want to be the one to destroy it. Steve passed the Jamie test so we're booked to go again on the 29th. Can't wait.
Anyway...it's time for Challenge #34 over at Scribble and Scrap where, as always, it's Anything Goes!
There are two chances to win a £10 voucher (Random Drawn and Selected) so well worth joining in the fun. All the information is on the blog.
And here's my card.
Not quite sure what I think of this one. My mojo has deserted me and this was the best I could come up with so it'll have to do. It's ok...just not 'me.'
I have used the following products available at Scribble and Scrap
Sweet Pea Stamps - Norma J Burnell - Fairy Tangles Cybele and Kaida Rubber Stamps
Flowers and Brads - Purples
First Edition - Love Letters - 8x8 Paper Pad
The matting card, gems, feathers and leaves are from my stash.
I used Spellbinders to cut the layers and easel base. I have created a tutorial (using a different die but same method) here.

Moon Owl - Challenge #33 Reminder DT Card
Hi everyone!
Hope you're having a fab weekend?
I'm hoping that this (and the challenge post...yikes!) go as scheduled as we're off on a fossil hunt with the Dinosaur Isle museum this morning. Yay! Really, really excited. I'm getting into all this stuff as much as Jamie is. We went on our own during the week (twice!) and I found two bits of bone and I knew they were bone as well. Very proud of myself. Jamie just ran around pretending he was a Baryonyx! :o)
Anyway, this is a DT card for the midway reminder for Challenge #33 over at Scribble and Scrap where the theme is, as always, Anything Goes!
Not happy with the photo for this one. In reality, the colours on the owl are darker. It really didn't want to play nicely for the pics, though. It doesn't look like the background's coloured either, but I've gone for the sunset look and it's quite pretty in the flesh...
I have used the following products from Scribble and Scrap to create this card:
The matting card is Core'dinations from my stash
I used a Joanna Sheen Signature Die to cut the lace border.
Promarkers used are as follows:
Grey Green, Tea Green, Fresh Bloom, Pink Mittens, Orchid, Spring Lilac, Plum Preserve, Ginger, Amber, Satin, Sandstone and Caramel.
I will be entering this card into the following challenges:
