The Puglies - Ronald

Hi everyone!

Wow...look at me go! Three cards blogged in two days! I've only just managed that many in a month for the last few months, lol.

Anyway, today's card features one of our brand new characters over at www.scribbleandscrap.co.uk - The Puglies.  The Puglies are a large family of smelly old scruffbag trolls who have high aspirations, hence their posh names.  These characters are original artwork produced by myself and the artist, Dave.  We're both working on them as Dave does the sketches and I produce the line art from those sketches and we're both coming up with lots of ideas and have a few more which will be ready to release soon.

This Puglie is Ronald and I have used him to make a card for (Ace)Andree's husband.  I have blocked out his name in the sentiment for privacy reasons.

Isn't he gorgeous?  I see a lot of blokes who look just like him around here.  :o)

I have coloured Ronald in using the following Promarkers:

Spice, Ginger, Apricot, Forest Green, Bright Green, Lime Green, Tea Green and Grey Green, Baby Pink, Cool Grey 1 and 3.

The flesh is coloured using Copics E00, E11 and E21

Not only is the image a Scribble and Scrap  digi but I also designed the papers to compliment the colours used in the image...Spice and Apricot with Grey Green matting layers.  I have used four different papers in this design. These papers (and others) will be available at Scribble and Scrap  in the near future.

I created the sentiment on my laptop and it reads:

"The best thing about golf for ****** was getting away from Andree's nagging!"    It's ok...Andree lives a long way from here so I'm safe!  :o)

As this is a card for a blokey, I've arranged the layers so that the layout, papers and image do all the work without having to add frou frou apart from 4 bits of card candi which just happen to match very nicely with the Tea Green used in the image!  Perfect.  The inside is decorated to match.

I hope you like Ronald and the other Puglies as we have lots of ideas for them and I think they're great fun.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

  4. I do hope you're not suggesting that my lovely hubby looks anything like your Ronald! Although to you Lexie, Ronald is probably quite a catch. And both you and Jane are close to being struck off the Christmas list.

Nice matching of the papers though xx

  9. Awesome creation, Lexie! This is a difficult color to work with and, if not handled properly, can purloin disaster. You did such a wonderful job of muting the orange by using white which is an equally strong color and then mediating the two with that subtle blue/grey matting. Just an overall beautifully executed project! Thanks for dropping this off by our house here at 613 Avenue Create!
