New Spellbinders Scalloped Labels One Card.

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok?  It's overcast here today but is so humid it's unreal.  Not pleasant at all.  Bring back the rain, I say!  Lol.

Anyway, I've been playing with some new Spellbinders dies, and the one I've used to make this card (a very quick one) is the Scalloped Labels One set.  I also know that at the end of August there is going to be another set of dies based on Labels One which is even more stunning!  I'm literally dying to get my paws on that one.  I just wish they would make some bigger ones...maybe just one set with all three types of the dies but in just one or two corresponding sizes.  That would be brilliant as I love using them for easels but they tend to be very small at the moment.

This card is a serious quickie to make as I have ransacked the card kit I got with the Mulberry Woods CD when it was Pick of the Week on Create & Craft, and used the card bases from that for the papers and the sentiments and pyramage toppers.

Isn't it pretty?  The colours are just perfect and the scalloped edges of the easel really do add the most wonderful frame.

If you didn't know already, Crafters Companion asked Hunkydory to produce this Mulberry Woods kit for them, so it really is fantastic quality silk art card.  This kit was the one with the four (I think) shaped card blanks and the toppers.  Rather than use the card blanks as they were (shaped like the topper and sentiment toppers), I elected to use them as the backing paper (all 350gsm of it, lol) for a luxury feel.  As the card blanks have a shaped aperture, there is a hole under the sentiment shape but no one can see that as I've covered it with the bit  which came from it.  That also has a sentiment on it, but as I needed a stopper, I've covered that sentiment with one of the little circular sentiments to act as the stopper.  And voila...a lovely little Christmas easel card.  I'm not a card kit person as I like to do my own thing, but I certainly managed that with this kit!  And I still have the outside parts of the base card which I can use as frames.  Perfick.

Think I'll enter this card in the challenge over at Crafters Companion  where the theme is Ho-Ho-Ho Christmas.

Take care everybody.
Happy crafting!
xx
